DRIP MORE

Dripmore is a specialty coffee shop in Shenyang, offering a full process from roasting to hand-brewing—operating like a small coffee lab. The team approaches every cup with craftsmanship, aiming to make quality visible and tangible in daily life. In collaborating with Baicai, Dripmore hopes the space becomes more than a physical store—an extension of its values: slow, focused, and quietly intentional.

Dripmore hopes visitors will truly pause and savor each cup with attention. The idea of “pausing” became the starting point of our design. We drew inspiration from the idea of the “pavilion”—a traditional structure that offers not only rest but a moment of reflection. In an age of rapid consumption, pausing is not a delay, but a deeper way of arriving.

We explored the essence of “pausing” and reorganized the philosophy of the pavilion through a contemporary lens, translating it into a space resilient to time, emotion, and shifting light.

Viewing and being viewed define the project’s core logic, creating layered visuals in a compact space. By refining the pavilion’s viewing principles, we let the interior and exterior interact—so the bar, roasting area, and service zone frame one another, turning everyday operations into part of the scenery.

Instead of relying on solid walls, the space is organized through lighter, more porous elements. We distilled the pavilion’s coexistence of openness and enclosure, using semi-transparent surfaces and interwoven planes and lines to outline a “room without walls”—defined, yet never closed.

“Shaping the terrain” guides the pavilion’s spatial logic. Subtle rises, dips, and turns give each area stage-like presence, while pause points frame both views of others and oneself, creating a gentle, clear rhythm.

The pavilion is more than a place to pause and view; it is a flexible space for diverse activities. Functional zones are defined, yet adaptability and furniture arrangements are encouraged. Display, experience, interaction, and creation overlap naturally, making the space a “scene co-created by its users.”

Dripmore aims not only to serve a good coffee but to offer a forgotten rhythm: pause, feel, and savor the moment. The richness of a single drop becomes a way to rediscover time.
