Located in Shenzhen Luohu MixC, the site features full-height glazing and an open spatial scale. We sought to activate this transparent façade to amplify the brand’s energy, shaping an undefined place—an athletic playground belonging to ONEUP.

ONEUP is driven by an instinct to move freely upward. In this project, we merged athletic function, fashion expression, and a playful digital spirit into a spatial language that conveys an active, healthy, and optimistic lifestyle.

Athletic elements were abstracted and embedded in a lighter, more approachable way. Training and competition are translated into tangible spatial cues, allowing the spirit of movement to enter daily life with ease and openness. The space is defined by warmth and playfulness. Warm wood materials, layered compositions, and rhythmic assemblies create movement, allowing vitality to flow within a structured yet playful environment.

We aim to turn shopping into an exploratory, game-like experience. The space becomes more than a backdrop for retail—it is an adventure of movement, style, and joy.

The project is located in Qiantan Li, a newly developed area in Shanghai. The store occupies the ground floor with three street-facing façades and excellent visibility. By retaining the existing floor and ceiling, we aimed to create a space that reflects the brand’s tone through furnishings and display installations.

In defining the project, we captured the brand’s core attitude — youthful, vibrant, and warmly confident. We took the idea of a tropical, luxurious breeze as the central design motif, allowing the space to flow, wrap, and shimmer like air touched by light.

Blue and pale pink were chosen as the main tones. We envisioned a scene where a flamingo glides across a lake. Its reflection swaying on the water, balancing romance and vastness, with every horizon blooming beneath a free sky. For the façade, we used feather graphic elements cascading gently from top to bottom. They veil the unused second floor while refining the building’s proportions. Through the gaps between the feathers, the first-floor display and atmosphere subtly reveal themselves to the street.

In plan, the space is divided by a large structure core into two sections, posing a significant design challenge. We introduced curves to guide the view and connect the two areas through flowing lines. The curves act as a spatial link, and a gentle reminder that space does not end where it seems, nor does perception.

Inside, the display system is composed of varied curved surfaces, where garments and objects unfold like waves in motion. The romantic character of the brand continues through the details, creating dialogue, resonance, and quiet harmony within the space.

The project finds its balance between lightness and weight. Between commercial logic and emotional expression, we sought the brand’s most natural voice — creating a space not only to be seen, but to be felt.

The brand aims to bring people closer to nature through scent, offering safe, nature-inspired fragrances for all to enjoy. Herb Thyme commissioned Baicai to design its Shenyang scent experience store, along with the office located above.

Located in Shenyang's Liangcang Cultural Park, the project occupies a standalone two-story building. Based on the original structure, we created the image of a freshly opened box—revealing beauty through a bold yet restrained façade design.

With red as the brand color, it runs as a thread throughout the design. The space is kept largely minimal, using light wood and stone to create a relaxed atmosphere.

We wanted the space to feel breathable, minimizing decoration and letting products and functions shape the experience. Display zones for scent testing and pickup define the spatial order, while vertical wooden elements extend the presence of the products throughout the space.

We designed a modular display system with a building-block feel, blending a sense of assembly with self-service. Open circulation and engaging experiences allow visitors to move freely through the space. The second floor serves as the brand's office, continuing the design language of the first floor to maintain spatial coherence. The goal is to deliver a unified, relaxed experience throughout.

The project is located on the first floor of a two-story concrete and red brick building, covering nearly 500 square meters. The space features a column grid structure. Through thoughtful layout design, we aim to minimize the visual impact of excessive columns and create an open, experiential commercial environment.

The design uses a series of curved walls to divide the space into open and private areas. Activity zones, restrooms, fitting rooms, storage, office, and reception areas are all placed behind the curved walls, leaving a large open area for operations. Purple, as the brand's primary color, is subtly integrated throughout the space. The rest of the design employs neutral colors and materials to ensure spatial cohesion. Using an installation-style approach, we create visual tension and a sense of ritual, enhancing the experiential quality of the space.

In the open area, we integrate columns with functional elements to minimize their visual presence. Around the columns, we create bars, display shelves, and exhibition cabinets, forming a cohesive spatial composition.

Within the store, we use decorations to create depth and visual layering, achieving a dynamic spatial experience where each step reveals a new scene.

Through the gaps in the curved walls, glimpses of the smaller functional areas are revealed. We aim to use this sense of "spatial gaps" to balance concealment and curiosity, creating a dynamic and engaging spatial experience.

Comfort is at the core of the experience. The integration of furnishings, soft decor, and meticulous attention to material details ultimately creates a rich and layered experiential space.

madnomad represents a community that cares about the planet's ecology and embraces the concept of global citizenship. Whether it's physically "moving through crowds, strolling through streets," or spiritually "living in the moment, devoted to ideals," today's youth are beginning to measure the world in a "nomadic" way.

The madnomad Shanghai pop-up concept store—"Realm of Light Circulation"—draws inspiration from the brand's commitment to sustainable and circular principles. The space utilizing commonly recycled materials in an artistic manner to express the brand's ethos.

In this design, we aimed to merge the space with the brand's values, applying a minimalistic approach to the space itself. The entire space is completed with a wall for storage and an island installation.

We hope this design is honest and straightforward. The storage spaces are exposed, creating a genuine expression. We used stacked foam boxes to form the central island, contrasting recycled waste with our products to create a strong visual impact.

By making "superordinary" materials the main character of the space, we hope to inspire reflection on the concept of environmental symbiosis.

The design axis of the space is: Free Set. We aim to capture the speed and tension of fashion without defining what occurs within the space, always remaining open like a series of commas, allowing for infinite editing and updates according to needs.

The project consists of a two-story retail space facing the main pedestrian street. The first floor has a smaller area, with the main business operations located on the second floor. The design allocates the narrow space on the first floor for street-facing displays, guiding customers into the space and directing them upstairs. Minimal interventions have been made to the building's facade to preserve the original urban texture, allowing the content of the space to become the visual focal point. Additionally, a lighting installation spelling out "WEN" has been incorporated on the second floor, not only serving as a brand statement but also enhancing the sense of unity between the two levels.

The first floor primarily features children's clothing and lifestyle products. We have incorporated a green multifunctional installation that serves as a brand display externally and as a showcase for various possibilities internally. Due to spatial constraints, we designed display racks with wheels to bring more versatility to this narrow space.

On the second floor, we maximized the display area as much as possible by utilizing all four sides of the space for exhibition. The fitting area and rest area serve as the core, supporting the surrounding clothing rack system.

We opted for conventional materials to create the display system within the space, utilizing stainless steel round tubes, square tubes, and angle steel to create various arrangements and combinations. This approach conveys a sense of honest objectivity, offering an exceptionally ordinary experience.

We have incorporated movable clothing racks that can be adjusted according to spatial needs and can also create different spatial experiences. The interior of the racks possesses editable features, using combinations of angle and square tubes to offer various shelving possibilities, allowing the configuration of the racks to change based on the items being displayed.

The fitting rooms and storage area are constructed from lightweight structures welded from square tubes, with the exterior of the storage area obscured by galvanized iron sheets that also incorporate the logo to create a brand identity marker. The exterior of the fitting rooms is mirrored, serving the rest area while also adding depth and dimension to the space. Both areas employ fabric curtains as a soft material to soften the sharpness brought by metal, lending a gentler texture to the space.

The site consists of a two-story street-facing storefront with a steel structure, featuring few columns in the layout and no load-bearing walls. The first floor comprises two retail units, while the second floor is a single integrated space. This configuration poses a challenge to layout strategy in the design process. We have interconnected the two spaces on the first floor and installed an indoor staircase leading to the second floor. By integrating the characteristics of the products in the space, we create a suitable experience.

The space primarily features products from the Swiss home brand USM, a leader in high-end modular furniture. USM has gained significant recognition in both international and domestic markets. We hope that the final presentation of the space will also embody the same level of freedom as modular furniture.

In the floor plan, we preserved the open nature of the space, creating spatial experiences with minimal intervention. Our design placed the staircase at the rear of the first floor, integrating it with a low wall to maintain the openness of both the first and second floors as much as possible. The division of space is primarily achieved through semi-transparent USM cabinets, installations, and low walls, creating display areas and circulation paths in an unforced manner.

We have integrated the staircase into the space as an installation, composed of three parts: a platform + low wall, concrete blocks, and the main body of the metal staircase. This deconstructed approach diminishes the sense of conflict the staircase might otherwise introduce into the space, while also serving to create dynamic circulation paths. The main body of the staircase, made of metal and green marble, ensures the visual permeability of the space. The designer has applied the marble to the stair treads in a deconstructed manner, creating a stark contrast with the metal texture and thereby generating a sense of conflict.

The second floor of the space serves as an office and USM product display area, also featuring an open modular furniture assembly space, allowing for a close-up view of the assembly details and process of modular furniture.

We hope that the final presentation of the space is flexible and adaptable, providing customers with a free environment to select furniture products.

The space captures the essence of the brand name, creating an ascending energy. It's like a gracefully light thread, not bounded by frames, gravity or choice. We intend for the elements in the space work just like a floating thread, keeping ground in the waves; searching for eternity in change.

A thread is what makes up the fabric, separate from brand, style, or origin. A thread exists as an objective truth. We took the concept of a thread as the overarching theme through the boutique, as a symbolic homage from the brand to the most basic element of clothing.

The thread makes up the devices and functions of the space. We use stainless steel round tubes to build a comprehensive system. The overlaying and staggering tubes form platforms for various displays. In turn, they also form scattered lines with the floor and the multiple angles of light and shade.

The ethereal clothing rails bring an essence of levitation and weightlessness. The other functional needs in the space are also shown through anti-gravity means, constantly reinforcing the brand signifier of UP.

The design breaks the limitations of the original floor plan, using the thread to “stitch” the spaces together. The separation between spaces is weakened, mirrors used to expand the dimensions. And other devices are used to reorganize and expand the space to be wholistically larger.

We hope that the design of the UP boutique store remains timeless. However the trends go, it will remain beneath the current with its solid foundation.

Snow Peak, as a brand for outdoor and camping gear, is centered around connecting people to nature so that we can all be connected with each other. The pop-up store uses the core design idea of a temporary field. We hope that the store exudes an aura just like the brand and its products, that it can be flexible in its multifunctionalities and convey a certain warmth and texture of what nature brings.

The space uses metal, similar to the design of the brand. We used the square tubes to build a network of shelving space. Considering that many of the products are displayed on hooks or platforms, we are able to manipulate the metal hooks, tubes, anti-corrosion planks to build a flexible and functional display that can change as the needs of sale change.

To best showcase the aura of nature in the space, we also built in soil and moss, where products can also be placed upon. We hope to present the products in their most natural and intentionally purposed states, connecting the customers to their realistic user experience, with the aroma of soil in the air.

The island is a movable piece, bringing a sense of openness and freedom. It is structured with metal pieces, that correspond to the elements of the products. The plants on the top shelf echo the soul and values of the store.

The final space presents with freedom, growth and in line with the Snow Peak way of life.
